Recently back from world tour with Madonna Vadim Kolpakov & VIA Romen are bringing genuine Russian Gypsy music to Northwest. The group was founded in the USA by Vadim Kolpakov in 2004, and has since performed to glowing reviews in many North American venues. These include the New York Gypsy Fest, Harvard University, California Romani Festivals - Herdjelezi, the Colorado Festival of World Theatre; and the Romani Yag Gypsy festival in Montreal, Canada. The band members' talent has been recognized by a number of famous artists. Two founding members of the band, Vadim Kolpakov and Arkadiy Gips, were part of Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet 2008/2009" tour as part of the Kolpakov trio. Anna Vasilevskaya (Stovall) was born in Novosibirsk, former Soviet Union. She studied in Russian Academy of Theater Arts (GITIS) in Moscow, then moved to United States in 1995, where she continued to perform in groups and as a soloist. She appeared in the Christmas Spectacular Show during 2003-2005 seasons. In 2008 she and her husband Dmitry Vasilevsky founded Arts for Hearts, Inc. in order to promote performing arts. Anna translated numerous Russian Gypsy songs into English, and wrote and directed the original musical comedy "No Way!" in 2009. Nalini is a master instructor and choreographer in Indian dance, Russian Gypsy dance and belly dance. She spent many years performing in the most elite nightclubs, stages and restaurants of Moscow, Russia, where she entertained VIP clientele before moving to the United States. She is the founder, director, and choreographer for the Blue Lotus Dance Co. and performs as a soloist all over the U.S. She is well-known for her grace and beauty as well as the warmth and joy she instills in the hearts of her audiences.
